Meagan J. Meehan holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Culture (Summa Cum Laude) from the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), a Master of Arts in Communication from Marist College, and is currently pursing a Ph.D. in Curriculum, Instruction, and the Science of Learning (CISL) at University at Buffalo (SUNY). An online learning specialist and advocate, she has served as an instructor for SUNY, University of the People (UoP), Concorde Career Colleges, Franklin University, and Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) in the subjects of English, Literature, Creative Writing, Communication, and Teaching Methods.
In late 2017, Meagan created the “Wicked Writings” online class series. She presented several eight-week online short story writing classes via the WetInk platform. These courses are offered in a number of genres and result in every participant seeing their story published via an anthology.
In 2019, Meagan designed and led a twelve-week long hybrid online/offline playwriting class via the in partnership with Studio Theatre of Long Island. This class resulted in every participant seeing their short play performed, with professional actors, on the Studio Theatre stage via a one-act play festival. From September 2018 to June 2019, Meagan served as an Artist-in-Residence at the Forest Hills Library in Queens, NYC, courtesy of Project Art. This gave her the opportunity to teach art to children between the ages of 4 and 14. She still serves as a substitute teacher for the organization.
